Workshops
Respectful Communication in Conflict: For the Workplace
Workplaces can be a hotbed of different personality types. It is normal that there will be ruptures, and less than ideal exchanges. Dealing with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders can be even more challenging.
This workshop teaches participants how to deal with any conflicts or disagreements in the workplace in a calm and respectful manner by firstly understanding their own emotional responses to the situation. It teaches participants active listening skills, how to give constructive feedback, and how to deescalate a situation that has become heated.
Mental Health First Aid
Checking in with our colleagues is one thing but how do we know what to do if they reveal that they are in fact struggling?
Participants of this workshop will come away with the skills to listen, connect, and offer support for those in need.
It will provide awareness on available resources, and how to access them.
Diet and Nutrition
Most of us could be eating a little better, so our diet and nutrition workshop will educate your workforce on the best ways to clean up their diet.
Dispel outdated myths and get a better understanding of how to best fuel our bodies in a hectic world. From teaching easy to cook recipes to highlighting foods to avoid, we’ll help your team become happier, healthier and more productive.
Financial Education
Practical financial education to reduce stress, boost engagement, & improve workplace performance.
Why Financial Wellbeing Matters—When employees feel in control of their finances, they show up more focused, engaged, & ready to perform at their best. Financial stress impacts productivity, absenteeism, turnover, & overall workplace morale.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) FAQs
What is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
An EAP is a confidential support service designed to help employees deal with personal or work-related issues that may impact their job performance, health, and well-being.
What kind of services does TLC EAP offer?
Services include short-term counselling (personal, family, or work-related) and other overall wellness services.
Who is eligible to use the EAP?
EAP services are available to all employees. Some businesses extend this offer to the family members of employees, you may need to check the agreement for your workplace.
How much does it cost?
EAP services are provided at no cost to employees. Your workplace covers the cost as a benefit.
What’s in it for my employer? Why are they offering this?
Psychosocial legislation in Queensland states that the employer is responsible for preventing psychosocial hazards such as bullying and workplace stressing the workplace. Having an EAP program in place is a good way to navigate this. It is also better for your workplace if employees are mentally present and productive. It’s a win, win.
Is the EAP confidential?
Yes, all EAP services are strictly confidential. Your employer will not know you used the service unless you give written permission or in rare, legally required situations (e.g., imminent risk of harm). You employer does not have access to information provided by the employee to counsellors or other EAP counselling providers.

This depends on your workplace agreement. Your lunchroom flier will tell you how many sessions you have available. Alternatively, you can contact TLC EAP and we will let you know.
What if I need long-term counselling or specialised care?
If your counsellor believes that further assessments and care is required, they will refer you back to your GP for a specialist referral or a Mental Health Care Plan. Or they may provide information on other community resources available.
What if I want more sessions with my counsellor?
Once your sessions are used up there are two options. You can ask for more sessions to be approved by your employer, or you can continue to see the counsellor privately, not through the EAP.
